Frost-Free Outdoor Spigot Installed Same Day in Carmel
A Carmel homeowner needed a new outdoor faucet. Jaden installed a Woodford frost-free spigot through the brick the same day.

What we installed
A Woodford frost-free outdoor spigot (sometimes called a hose bib or sillcock), mounted through the brick and sealed around the flange so water and bugs stay out.
Why frost-free matters in Indiana
On a frost-free spigot, the valve that actually shuts the water off sits several inches inside the wall, where the house keeps it warm. When you turn it off, the water in the outside part drains out, so there's nothing left to freeze. A regular outdoor faucet holds water right at the outside wall, and that's the one that cracks in a hard freeze.
One tip: disconnect the hose before freezing weather. A hose left on traps water in the spigot, and it can still freeze and burst. How to keep pipes from freezing →
A shutoff on the line inside

Inside, the water line is PEX with a NIBCO ball valve, so the spigot line can be shut off on its own without turning off water to the whole house.
Done the same day
Jaden had the new spigot in and working the same day the homeowner called.
