Gas Water Heater Replacement in Westfield: Repair First, Replace When It's Time
When this Westfield customer first called, we didn't sell them a new water heater. We cleaned the thermocouple and got their old tank running again. When it finally gave out, they called us back, and Jaden installed a new Bradford White gas water heater.
Visit one: a repair, not a sale
The gas water heater had stopped heating. The problem was the thermocouple, the small safety sensor that tells the gas valve the pilot is lit. When it gets dirty, the pilot won't stay on and you lose hot water.
We cleaned the thermocouple and got the heater working again. It cost far less than a new tank, and it bought the customer more time with the one they had.
Visit two: time for a new tank
Water heaters don't last forever. When this one finally gave out, the customer called us back. Jaden replaced it with a new Bradford White gas water heater on September 28, 2026.
What went into the new install
New copper hot and cold connections at the top of the tank.
A new flexible gas connector with a shutoff valve at the heater.
A copper relief valve discharge line from the T&P valve down to the floor.
The vent reconnected to the draft hood so exhaust goes safely up and out.
