75-Gallon Power Vent Water Heater Replacement
A Carmel homeowner’s 75-gallon power vent water heater sprang a pinhole leak. They called on Tuesday, and Jaden had a new Bradford White 75-gallon power vent installed and running on Wednesday.

The problem
A pinhole leak in the tank itself. A leak at a fitting, drain valve or relief valve can often be repaired, but when the tank is leaking, the steel inside has rusted through. There’s no fixing that, and it only gets worse, so replacement was the right call.
Why a power vent
A power vent water heater uses a fan on top to push exhaust out through PVC pipe instead of a chimney. That’s common in Carmel basements where the heater isn’t near a chimney. Swapping in the same size and type means the existing gas line, venting and location can be reused, so the install is faster with fewer surprises.
What we did
Jaden removed and hauled away the leaking tank and installed a new Bradford White 75-gallon high-efficiency power vent gas water heater. He reconnected the gas, water, venting and electrical, ran the T&P discharge, and started and tested the heater before leaving. The permit was included, and the install is backed by our 12-month workmanship warranty.
It was our second 75-gallon power vent swap in Carmel that week. Shawn installed another one on Monday.

Signs your power vent water heater is failing
- Water, rust or mineral crust around the base of the tank.
- Rusty or brown hot water.
- Popping or rumbling while it heats.
- The tank is more than 10–12 years old.
- The vent fan runs or throws an error but the water won’t get hot.
